Zero VOC Finishes

Using the latest and "greatest" technology in penetration oils, we are able to provide a multitude of color options that retain the natural grain of the wood while also giving the smooth feel of a floor that we all love.

These impact oils are zero VOC and only adhere to the fibers of the wood, which allows for easy repair if needed. They have been proven to be just as tough as any of the existing water-based and oil-based finishes offered today when applied correctly.

Our product preference is Loba Impact Oil. Loba is a German company that engineers, tests, and proves their products over 5-year periods before making them available, which is required by law in Germany.

Quality Loba Finishes

The timeless, natural hardwood floor that everyone enjoys can be done with the tough and great-looking water-based finishes that we use. These finishes are low VOC and can be walked on with socks within just a few hours without the toxic smell.

Our personal preferences in this area are Loba Easy Finish, Loba Supra 2k, Loba Invisible 2k, and Loba Hybrid AT. These finishes are a combination of one-part and two-part water-based finishes. Each provides a different look and feel.

The Easy Finish is a one-component finish that rivals some two-component finishes on the market and is the only one-component finish that we will use. The others are two-component finishes, which means they have a hardener that is added to the finish that provides fast dry time and exceptional hardness.

We wholeheartedly believe in these products and the great wearability they provide your floor. Having tried a fair majority of other products available, we know that Loba is far superior. They can be applied in a variety of sheens — matte, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss

Finishes That Accent the Wood Grain

The above-mentioned finishes are what we use on top of our high-quality stains, which also offer a large selection of colors. When done properly, they really accent the wood and all of the beautiful grain.

Avoid the Bad Odors of Older Finishes

Here at DeGrange Hardwood Floors, we do not use oil-modified urethanes, acid-cure finishes, or oil-based polyurethane finishes. There is no benefit over using quality Loba water-based products or impact oils. The desired look that these finishes offer can be duplicated while avoiding the potent odor that older polyurethanes possess.
